Ye Shengtao's Residence
Well-known Chinese author Ye Shengtao (1894 - 1988) was born in Suzhou. He loved literature and poetry so much when he was very small, and he was gifted in Chinese calligraphy too. In 1905 Ye attended the last imperial examination in China in an attempted to take good grade but failed. After graduated at a local high school, Ye Shengtao taught in an elementary school. In 1915 he came to Shanghai and taught at a college affiliated to the Commercial Press.
