Jinmao Building

Jinmao Building In the early period of 1999, there was another symbolic building erected beside Huangpu River. It was Jinmao Building. Jinmao is the third tallest building in the world and the top one in China. It has 88 floors. This building is a modernized office building and luxurious five-star hotel and offers the service of business exhibition, high-level banquet, sightseeing, amusement and shopping. It is featured of China's traditional culture and western-style architecture ideas. It has been the most comfortable and flexible places for handling office business work, finance, trade, amusement and restaurants.

Jinmao Building covers 2.3 hectares and covers a total area of 290,000 square meters. The height of the building is 420.5 meters. Jinmao Building locates at the mouth of the tube of East Yan'an Road in Pudong New District. It is situated at the core of Pudong New Area, Lujiazui finance and trade zone. The prosperous Pudong New District is in the east of it. You could appreciate the beautiful scenery of Shanghai and Huangpu River in the west of it. It only takes 2 minutes getting to the most prosperous center of Puxi Area from Jinmao Building.

The designing company of Jinmao Building is the famous SOM design office in Chicago of the United States. The designers skillfully integrated the latest architectural idea in the world with Chinese traditional style and successfully designed out this world-renowned building. It is the milestone of Shanghai-style architecture development.

It is the first time to use the latest configuration technology in the history of high-rise building, the entire buildings vertical deviation is only 2 cm, and it could keep safe by way of anti-7 Richter scale earthquake. Jinmao Building has 79 elevators. High-speed sightseeing elevator could hold 35 people each time with a speed of 9.1 meters per second, and only 45 seconds are taken from top of the building to the ground floor.
