Founded in 1907 and called Guangci Hospital originally, Shanghai Ruijin Hospital has been a high quality comprehensive institution with the functions of teaching and research. The hospital occupies about 245,000 sq. m and 40,000 sq. m in construction and garden areas respectively, with fixed bed spaces of 1383 and a staff of 3445, of which 1010 are physicians and medical experts that have good reputation at home and abroad. The hospital is the largest clinical research and medical training base affiliated to Shanghai Jiao Tong University's Faculty of Medicine.
